An Introduction to God’s Story

Description: Have you ever wondered how all the people and stories of the Old and New Testaments fit together? Is there a metanarrative that connects Genesis to Revelation? This breakout will explore God’s Story in five acts—Creation, Fall, Redemption, Mission, and Restoration—and how understanding the story arc helps us trace biblical themes, tell our own story, and consider how we can share God’s Story with others.

Learning How to Tell Your Story

We have all been given a story to tell, but doing so can feel overwhelming and daunting! This breakout will unpack why our stories are important to share and provide tools to help us map out and tell the story of who we are and how we got here. We will use God’s Word to see how storytelling is an ageless and timeless art and reveal how God is present in each of our highs and lows.

Letting Go of Expectations

Life isn’t working out like I expected. 34 years of marriage, two beautiful adult children, and suddenly, I have no idea what my future looks like; how to make decisions, what is right, what is wrong, etc. Instead of planning my retirement, I’m back to taking life one day at a time. Isaiah 43:19 says “Behold, I am doing a new thing; What if I’m not open to God’s new thing? Does this resonate with you? If so, let’s explore God’s word and our expectations and learn how to let go and trust God

Feeling Apprehension and Moving Forward

Our fears or concerns can immobilize us. This breakout session will help us to identify and process our apprehension and to grow in our trust in God so that we can move forward. Join us in a group environment led by a certified Counselor that will provide feedback and support as we discover that we’re not alone in our fears.

Reflect & Grow

We’re making space for you to reflect, process, and lean into what God is speaking to you. This breakout offers 3 different mediums for reflection- art, prayer, and conversation. These spaces will be facilitated by volunteers who will offer prompts and support, and you are welcome to choose one or move between all three at your own pace.
