Food addictions, eating disorders and binge eating have plagued people since ancient times. The same mindset that’s behind overeating is the foundation for all overindulgence. The word gluttony comes from the Latin word “gluttire” meaning to gulp down or swallow and is understood to mean over- indulgence and over-consumption of food, drink, or wealth to the point of extravagance, sickness or waste. Here are a few ways we can help you find support as you strive to get and stay healthy.

The Daniel Plan
The Daniel Plan is a groundbreaking healthy lifestyle program founded on biblical principles and focused on The Essentials: Faith, Food, Fitness, Focus and Friends. The program offers an innovative approach to achieving a healthy lifestyle where people get better together by optimizing their health in each of these life areas. Each essential supports and influences the others, offering a practical step-by-step approach for anyone to follow. The essentials of Faith and Friends are what we call the “secret sauce” that makes The Daniel Plan so effective. The program benefits are accelerated when done in a supportive community of friends because God designed us to thrive in relationships. We have learned that the process of getting healthy and staying healthy relies on the support and encouragement of friends. With the support of God and your group, you have far more than willpower helping you to make positive changes so you can be consistent and sustain your new healthy lifestyle.

The Daniel Plan begins Monday May 1st at Grace McKean: Register here and let us know if childcare is needed: To register, email:

Celebrate Recovery
Celebrate Recovery addresses all types of habits, hurts and hang-ups. Some recovery programs deal only with alcohol or drugs or another single problem. But Celebrate Recovery is a “large umbrella” program under which a limitless number of issues can be dealt with. At Grace Church, only a fraction who attend Celebrate Recovery are dealing with alcohol or drugs. We help people find the underlying reasons they find themselves struggling with eating issues, shame, guilt or a broken past.

A team of health minded people who love to share ways for you to adopt healthy eating and exercise habits.
