Courses and Trainings

Schedule Learn to Lead Home

The courses and trainings are organized within the three L2L pillars: Biblical Studies, Ministry Training, and Leadership Development. Each includes a credit value range.  Please see the Learn to Lead schedule for the current ministry year for specific courses being offered.

BIBLICAL STUDIES

Biblical Courses (4-8 credits) These courses are based on books of the Bible or topics from the Bible. These are generally six weeks in length and are offered three times a year.  Theological Courses (8-12 credits) Systematic or Biblical Theology. Offered two to three times per year. These courses are offered at Grace with guest professors from Winebrenner Theological Seminary.

Trinity Courses (6-12 Credits) Trinity Evangelical Divinity School offers courses in a variety of topics including Bible, Theology, Counseling in both the fall and spring semesters at their extension campuses.

Book Study (1-3 credits each) Read a suggested book or book summary and complete a reflection of what you learned and explain how you will use what you learned in your life and ministry.

Right Now Media Studies (1-3 credits) Choose a Bible study and work through it on your own or with a group.

MINISTRY TRAINING

Quad/Ministry-Specific Skills Training (1-3 credits) Skill-specific training ground for different areas of ministry.

Professional Development Training (6-12 credits) Local or national ministry events focused on specific areas of ministry (i.e. conferences), church ministry shadowing with another church in a specific area of ministry, leadership development training not offered by Grace, or missions trips that you are not leading. Use of a professional development form and supervisor approval required.

Full Staff Meetings (1 credit each meeting) Full staff meetings are two-hour meetings held four times per year, for those on Full Staff only.

Leadership One Day (1 credit each class) Offered throughout the year, these days are designed to allow leaders to choose one to three short 30- to 60-minute training sessions within their area of ministry.

Right Now Media Training (1 credit each) These trainings will be assigned by a ministry lead. You will receive an invitation to participate via email.

LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT

Leadership Conferences (2-6 credits) Local or national leadership development events focused on church, personal or community leadership. The Global Leadership Summit is an example and is hosted annually by Grace Church.Church Leadership Training (12 credits) Grace’s leadership track for potential high-impact leaders.  The course commitment includes six classroom sessions, accompanying assignments and six cohort discussion groups.

Leadership 101, 201 and 301 (2 credits) Introduction to the big ideas that shape Grace Church and the Leadership Structure. Each of these is a Right Now Media training and an invitation from a Ministry Lead is required.
