Many of you have asked for current news from Haiti. The following was sent from Marilyn Shaferly. Marilyn and her husband Dave spent nearly 5 decades serving Haiti and the staff/facilities our teams work with every year. They recently returned to Haiti to serve the earthquake victims. Her observations are unique because she has been deeply involved with Haitians for a long time. It’s worth the read. This is a true move of God’s Spirit in this desolate land.

Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there. If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast. If I say, “Surely the darkness will hide me and the light become night around me,” even the darkness will not be dark to you; the night will shine like the day, for darkness is as light to you. This past weekend Pastor Mike challenged the church to intentionally open their lives to the person of the Holy Spirit in an ongoing manner. We discussed that the Holy Spirit is not off in the distance but actually residing in the hearts of God’s people. He is the source of power and direction so many believers seem to lack. We promised life stories of people recognizing and responding to the promptings of the Holy Spirit to help you see how others are following His leadership.
