Advent Blog: Great Expectations
Special Blog Series Grace Staff Jill Mintsiveris on December 17, 2009
In Diane Wright’s excellent first person account of Mary last Sunday, she talked a lot about expectations. Things in Mary’s life didn’t turn out like she thought they would. I have several things on my personal “not like I expected” list:
A Generous Church

Grace is such a generous church. During challenging economic times, the people of Grace poured out blessings on complete strangers in our community that needed hope through a meal at Thanksgiving. Not only that, you sacrificially give extra to We Will Tell to pay for the facility that made room for more of our friends and neighbors to encounter the Prince of Peace. Every week you acknowledge God as owner of all your stuff and worship him by giving the first portion of your income to help change lives here on earth.
God loved the world so much that He gave. You demonstrate the character of the Creator when you give. It’s a beautiful thing.
Lives Changing at Financial Peace University
Grace Staff Jill Mintsiveris on December 19, 2008
We just finished the last week of Financial Peace University. I am so proud of the families that took this class! They were from all walks of life and all ages (from 15-90) with a common goal to get to the next level financially.
Car Stories
Grace Staff Jill Mintsiveris on December 15, 2008
Not long ago, our 1996 Honda Civic would not start. Good thing it was at home and not on the side of the road somewhere. AAA checked the battery – it was fine, so they towed it to the mechanic for what seems like the 10th time this year. That membership has really paid off. $320 and 3 days later, we got the car back with a new ignition coil.
