September Equip Classes

We’re excited about the EQUIP courses that we’ll be offering in September. These classes are designed to help Christians engage the world around them. To steal a quote from a friend, “the context of spiritual isn’t spirituality.” God isn’t asking us loose ourself thinking religious thoughts as a way of mentally escaping from our lives. But we grow in our knowledge and love of God so we can better know and love the people around us. We strive to offer classes that help you understand how to live in the marketplace, the home, and as citizen, and as a neighbor.This fall line up helps you do exactly that. Here are the courses we are offering this fall.
Lectures to Help Today’s Bible Readers Understand the Gospels

Have you ever been invited to a wedding hosted by people of an ethnicity you weren’t familiar with? At times you feel lost. You aren’t sure why everyone is standing or kneeling. You don’t get the readings and when you are at the reception you don’t know the dances and the food is completely alien to you. You know that this is a festive occasion but so many of the details of the event are lost on you. Chances are there you’d pull your friend aside and ask him explain what’s going on.
Reading the Gospels can be a lot like that wedding. 21st Century, Western readers plunge into 1st Century, Middle Eastern texts and discover that they could use a little help understanding what’s going on. We’ve got that friend to help you out.
