David and Goliath Sermon Leftovers

I had a blast preaching this sermon this past weekend. What a great story about how God uses underdogs to accomplish great things. The boldness of David that was blessed by God should encourage all of us to climb out on some more limbs for the sake of the savior.

This past Sunday I taught a lesson on the key doctrines of our church in the Membership Class. Each of the 7 major points is incredibly important and actually exciting! (Exciting doctrine?????)
One of the points grabbed me because it connected closely with some of my recent thoughts (and emails I received)—the value of human life. Here’s what’s in our statement, “All human beings are created in God’s own likeness and therefore have inherent value and equality before God. All human life is in the image of God and sacred.”
