Weekend Sermon: Christmas Realized
Grace Staff Al Detter on December 23, 2008
My preaching professor in seminary used to say, “If you preach to 300 people, there are 301 sermons—the 300 that people heard through their filters and the one you meant to preach.” How true that is.
After the sermon on Sunday, a person said to me, “You talked about all of us being selfish rather than being a servant to others. My problem is not that I’m too selfish. I’m always serving everyone to my own detriment. I didn’t know how to relate to that part of your sermon.”
